2022 Black History Month Assembly

This year, our students performed a re-enactment of the Woolworths lunch counter sit-in that was critical to jumpstarting the Civil Rights Movement. In addition, we were honored to welcome Dr. Juanita Skulark, an original Freedom Rider who able to share first-hand account of her work during the Civil Rights era, including marching with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.! Finally, our some our students honored great leaders from throughout the history of the struggle, all the way up to President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama! We hope you enjoy this video presentation of their work.
